Our thoughts immediately go to the innocent victims, but also to the first of these: the idea of a civilised world.The negation of the lives of others and of one's own existence is the absolute crime. Nothing can justify this, nothing.
The spirit of solidarity in France and with France - in Europe and across the world - will be the only thing capable of driving this aberration back to where it belongs - onto the pyre of deadly ideologies.
In this trial let us find further reason to stand by one another, and day by day, join forces so as not to allow any space for these ideologies to grow. These are the foundations on which are nations are built, this is why Europe united.
