BFM RadioOn 6th May the day after the speech delivered in Nîmes by the French President Nicolas Sarkozy, Jean-Dominique Giuliani was the guest in the programme "Les Grands Débats" with BFM on the theme of "European Elections: the Campaign is Launched!"
With regard to the electoral campaign, Mr Giuliani observed it was not the length of the debates that was important but their politisisation. "The link must be made between national and European policy," he declared, because purely French views have no chance of becoming a reality on a European level. He also stressed the growing power of MEPs who are gradually becoming true legislative players. Finally Mr Giuliani said that Europe had to be placed within a world context, and we have to admit that "it is the place where we live best!"
